In the BPSOU system, there are over 150 wells that are measured regularly for water level.

In the BPSOU system, there are over 150 wells that are measured regularly for water level. The majority of wells in the system are measured monthly for water level and are used to create potentiometric maps (see maps below). The potentiometric maps below can be thought of as topographic maps of the groundwater surface in the alluvial aquifer. These maps are commonly used to evaluate the direction of ground water flow in a system and the effects of ground water controls such as the MSD Sub-drain and the hydraulic control channel (HCC) near LAO
