Atlantic Richfield Company is currently conducting a pre-design investigation to further characterize the groundwater below the open space area known as Diggings East.
The investigation includes performing a groundwater pumping test from a recently installed well. The information obtained from this investigation will be used in construction planning for stormwater basins at Diggings East; and in the design of systems to collect contaminated groundwater before it reaches Blacktail or Silver Bow Creek.
As a result of this work, George St. will be temporarily closed to through traffic on Friday, August 7, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and again from 7:00 AM Monday, August 10, through 5:00 PM Thursday, August 13, to allow safe mobilization of equipment and personnel and performance of the pumping test.
